iPad Pilot Class Progress Report: Students are making fantastic progress using the iPad’s to assist their learning. This Term we are using the iPad’s to study science, write our diaries, and practice brain training and problem solving skills. We are sharing our progress with other classes and teachers.
Homework: Home-School Communication Book, Book Log: Please check your child’s reading log and sign the Home School book every day and add any notes, news or comments.
Late Access: If you are picking up or dropping off students and the Tamaki Campus front doors are locked please park in the side carpark and walk around to the doors at the rear of the classroom block or take your child to the Sommerville School office.
Sick: Sommerville’s new electronic roll is being implemented this term. If your child is going to be away:
Please let the Taxi company know and please let Sommerville or the class know. Sommerville School Ph 5709787, Class 0220848648 or email kevin@sommervillespecial.school.nz. The office will phone you to check on the welfare of any students who have not called to explain absences.
Health & PE: Please keep sick students at home. We have had several students sent to school when they are sick. This is not nice for the sick student and they infect other students and staff. Also please look out for nits and head lice. We have more arriving at school. Please check and treat your child’s hair regularly.
Basketball training is on Wednesdays. Students may bring a spare T Shirt to exercise in if they want.

The blogs will also provide a space for you to connect with your child’s school life by finding out more about their learning and give you the opportunity to talk with them about the events and learning that takes place.
Student of the week prize is awarded for outstanding effort and achievement. This award will not be awarded every week.
Regards,
Kevin, Jackie and Crusoe
