Posted on 1:21 AM by babli panday

We did dye dot painting . Before I started I put on a apron so my uniform wont get dirty. I am using red and blue and I splodge the colours on to the paper. We made lots of them to put on the wall to decorate the classroom.

We also dyed our desk covers. For the desk cover I use lots different colours and after the dye dried we cut out the pictures and put them up on the wall too it was fun.

My art is looking cool. I used a vivid to draw around my photo then I cut with the craft knife.

Fun with Dye by Allan

Posted on 1:15 AM by babli panday

We have been creating a bit of art  to brighten our class room up. We have also have been doing Dye Dot painting for the walls in the class room. Before we started that piece of art work we put down the tarpaulin. For the Dye Dot painting we used a syringe. We also have been working on our comic picture desk cover and dying it with different colours. We have been really busy doing this for the class room. It was very hard when I had to bend down and do the dye dot painting because I have long legs. With the desk covers I just painted  up and down with the brushes.

Posted on 12:13 AM by babli panday
I am wearing  a apron to protect my uniform from the paint while I  am preparing the board for my stencil.  It looked amazing when I sprayed the stencil of my head onto it.

Breaking the Ball Barrier by Bradley

Posted on 12:12 AM by babli panday
On Tuesday the 11th of March, we went to the Tamaki Recreation Centre to watch the famous NZ Breakers. When we first entered the gym, there were a lot of students from other schools including Sommerville Special School sitting along the sides of the basketball court. The students were eagerly waiting for the basketball team to come in.

While we were waiting for the players to come, one of the people who organized the event picked a few volunteers to play a game. They were challenged to shoot a basketball into the hoop, if they got the ball through the hoop, they would win the ball. Among some of those picked were Aidan and Nathan, and they were very happy that they won.

When the NZ Breakers arrived, some of the students from other schools who were there were chosen to have a go at playing against the Breakers, including Allan and Fynn from our class. At the end of the games, despite losing against the players, the students were very happy they had played against a famous basketball team.

After playing the games against the Breakers, we played another game in which the students had to decide whether one of the Breakers players would either miss the basketball hoop or  manage to get the ball into the hoop.

At the end of the session, each student received a handbook that explained about the biography of the NZ Breakers. We were really excited when we were given a chance to get autographs signed by the players themselves.

It was a very memorable day for the students to watch the players up close and to have a taste of what it is like to play with a famous team.

Fun at Athletics by Allan

Posted on 3:21 PM by babli panday

I enjoyed coming second in the 200m race. I was really fast when I ran in my 200m race. I also enjoyed shot put and softball throw. I came first in both.
I brought my camera from home to take pictures of the races that my friends were in. I got pictures of Fynn and Aidan with their ribbons around their necks. I got Fynn's mum Annie to get a picture of me and Fynn and Aidan. I was really excited on that day when I came second, but my mum had to soak the ribbon in a cup of water because my bottle of Powerade was open. I showed my mum, my dad and my brother and they were very happy because of all my ribbons.
